Are the books in the catalog really free?
Yes. Every book is in the public domain and comes from Project Gutenberg, Wikisource or Epubbooks. Reading them in PolyglotReader costs nothing.
How long does a catalog book take to read?
Each book shows its reading time, measured from the real text at 200 words per minute, a comfortable pace for language learners. No book in the catalog takes more than 3 hours.
What do the Easy and Medium levels mean?
Easy books use short sentences and everyday words, like fairy tales and fables. Medium books are standard literary prose without much archaic or specialised vocabulary. Harder books are left out of the catalog.
Can I read books that are not in the catalog?
Yes. Switch to "All of Project Gutenberg" to search about 78,000 public-domain books in 15 languages. The search runs in your browser and forgives typos, so a misspelled title or author still finds the book. Those books are not rated for difficulty or length, and they are public domain in the United States, so check your own country's rules before sharing copies.
Where are the books stored once I open them?
The text is downloaded when you open a book and saved in your browser, so it works offline afterwards. Nothing is stored on a server, and your reading progress stays on your device.
