Daily Reading Goal and Streak for Language Learners

A small target you meet every day beats a long session you never get round to.

Languages are learned by showing up. The daily goal turns that into a number you can see: choose how many minutes or pages you want to read each day, and PolyglotReader tracks your progress and counts the days in a row you reach it.

Free, no sign-up.

How it works

  1. Open the daily goal from the progress button in the library.
  2. Choose whether to track time in minutes or pages read.
  3. Pick a target from the presets or type your own number.
  4. Save the goal, read, and watch the progress bar fill up. Reach the target to extend your streak.

Minutes or pages

Track by time if you want a habit that does not depend on the book: from one minute up to six hours a day, with presets from 5 to 60 minutes. Track by pages if you prefer a visible amount of text: from 1 to 200 pages a day, with presets from 5 to 50.

Time counts only while you are actively reading, and a page counts once however many times you return to it.

Streaks that reward consistency

Each day you reach your target adds one to your streak, and the library shows the number of days in a row. Miss a day and the streak starts again from zero, so a modest target you can keep is better than an ambitious one you cannot.

Change it whenever you like

You can switch between minutes and pages, raise or lower the target, or turn goal tracking off completely, which also hides the progress bar. A reset button sets today’s time and pages back to zero if you want a fresh start.

Kept on your device

Your goal, today’s progress and your streak are stored in your browser. There is no account, nothing to sync and nothing sent to a server.

Questions

What is a good daily target?
Start with a target you can meet on a busy day, such as 10 or 15 minutes, and raise it when it feels easy. Reading every day matters more than reading a lot.
Does time spent on flashcards or games count?
The goal measures reading: active time in a book or article, and the pages you turn. Flashcard practice and games are extra on top of it.
Will I lose my streak if I clear my browser data?
Yes. The goal and streak live in your browser, so clearing site data for polyglotreader.com or switching to another browser starts them again.
