Flashcards Built from the Books You Read
Practise the words you actually met, in the books you actually chose.
Vocabulary lists written by someone else rarely match what you read. PolyglotReader builds flashcards from your own lookups, so the words you practise are the ones that stopped you in a real book.

How it works
- Look up a word while reading and tap the flashcard button.
- Open the flashcards from the library at any time.
- Pick the right translation from four choices.
- Cards you answer correctly are marked as learned; you can put a card back into practice with Learn again.
Multiple-choice practice
Each card shows the word and four possible translations: the correct one and three plausible wrong ones. Hear the word spoken, then choose. It is quick enough to do in a few spare minutes.
Sorted by book
Every card keeps a link to the book it came from. Practise only the words from the book you are reading now, or review all of them, and browse the full list of your cards.
Kept on your device
Your flashcards are stored in your browser. There is no account to create, and nothing to sync or lose when you stay on the same device and browser.
Questions
- Is this spaced repetition?
- Not strictly. It is continuous multiple-choice practice: a correct answer marks a card as learned, and you can return learned cards to the practice pile whenever you like.
- Can I add cards without reading a book?
- Flashcards are created from word lookups in the reader, which keeps every card tied to a real sentence you met.
